Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
Bershad Valuation Consulting LLC ("BVC," "we," "us") provides business valuation, forensic accounting, litigation support and expert witness services from West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. This policy explains what information we handle through our website (bershadvaluation.com), our client portal, and the internal systems that support our engagements, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
- Engagement information. Documents and information you, your counsel, or other parties provide to us in connection with an engagement.
- Contact information. Your name, email address and similar details when you contact us, submit a form on this website, or are invited to the client portal.
- Portal activity. When you use the client portal, we record sign-ins and the documents you view or download, for security and record-keeping.
- Billing records. Invoices, payments and balances for the services we provide to you.
How we use it
We use this information only to perform and bill for the services we were engaged to provide, to communicate with you and your counsel, to secure our systems, and to meet our legal and professional obligations.
Our accounting system
We keep our own billing records in QuickBooks Online. Our internal software connects to BVC's own QuickBooks company so that, for example, a client can see their own balance and invoices in the client portal. That connection is used only for BVC's own books. We do not use it to access anyone else's QuickBooks data, and we do not sell or share the information it provides.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- with your counsel, and with others as you or your counsel direct;
- with service providers that support our operations (for example, hosting, email and accounting software), under confidentiality obligations;
- as required by law, court order, subpoena or professional standards.
Security
Information is kept on access-restricted systems. Credentials for our internal connections are encrypted at rest, and client portal access requires verification by email. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle.
Retention
We keep engagement and billing records for as long as our professional, legal and contractual obligations require, and then dispose of them securely.
Your choices
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask to have your client portal access removed, subject to our legal and professional obligations to retain engagement records.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
